Saturdays in Saxapahaw has begun and is in full swing, along with Mother Nature! Live music, a farmer and craft market, local fresh bounty and wares from those who grow it or make it, food trucks, picnic provisions, and a Slip-n-slide … Come pick up some treats or have a meal and head to the hill! The market is open 5-8pm, and music plays from 6-8pm. This Saturday’s band is RAGWEED BRASS–

RAGWEED BRASS takes listeners back to the days when jazz, blues and folk music were forming together. With a vocal-driven repertoire that blends original tunes with classics of the jug band and old N’Orleans days, RAGWEED BRASS springs up from the ground to make folks hum and clap, dance and tap their toes. The basic lineup features Dave Henderson, vocals, guitar and banjo; Jesse Jordan, vocals and strings; Ernie Renn, percussion; Jim Henderson, soprano sax; George Allen, trombone; and Mark Daumen, tuba. The distinctive sound of RAGWEED BRASS is the inspired racket these boys make.
