You know about kombucha- ever met Switchel? Switchel is a fermented drink made with apple cider vinegar, water, and a natural sweetener like molasses. Ginger root, honey, maple syrup, Seltzer, and other variations are used too. Switchel answers to Haymakers’ Punch, Switchy, Farmers’ Relief, and the names grow as mixologists pour. (I’ve been drinking variations for a long while, but didn’t know this name for it!) Switchel came from the Caribbean, most say, and our colonial ancestors had theirs too. Delighted to know Switchel is finding its place with creators and consumers’ taste buds!
