A Look Back at the Weird and Wonderful World of the General Store in 2020

August 2020

In August, we finally upgraded our registers and inventory system to something much more modern than we had been using, allowing us to better keep track of our expenses, profit & loss, inventory and more. It’s been a huge help, allowing us to make more informed buying decisions. Alynna is shown here testing out the new barcode scanners on the new register.
One of the more expressive puppies we encountered out on the patio this summer.
Kitchen leader Patrick turned 21 this year, and celebrated out on the patio with his very own six-pack of Anchor Steam!
A bunch of delicious five star dinners ready to go out to hungry customers. In the front is our ever-popular chicken picatta.
Before he started his shift for the day, dishwasher Chris took a few minutes to hang out in the sunshine and play guitar for passers-by.
Dessert for dessert and beer for dessert. The Bruery out of California makes some amazing limited run brews, including some that taste like brownies or oatmeal cookies.
Alicia just being the Queen of Breakfast in here.
Katie ready to deliver some lunch on a busy summer weekend.
Even though the Haw River Ballroom was closed for events over the summer, that didn’t stop people from having small weddings in Saxapahaw…
…And stopping by the General Store after the ceremony to celebrate. The good thing about having a wedding during a pandemic is that you can fit the whole wedding party at a single table!
