For years, the annual Saxapahaw Holiday Market has been the place to meet dozens and dozens of local artists face to face, and to find unique holiday gifts that you can’t find anywhere else. It’s also a major source of annual revenue for these local artists, and without a Holiday Market this year due to a sharp rise in coronavirus cases, it puts a strain on the artisans in Saxapahaw and all over North Carolina who depend on the income, and it just makes the holidays less exciting.

King Cobra Apiary
Located between Saxapahaw and Chapel Hill, King Cobra Apiary not only provides some of the best local honey in the area, but they’ve also got a great selection of beeswax candles and beeswax ornaments. Grab a jar of honey for a gift, and top it off with a beautiful handmade beeswax decoration.
Cocoa Body Co
Make every day a spa day! Based out of Raleigh, Stephanie from Cocoa Body Co makes exquisite handmade, all-natural self-care items to elevate your daily routines. These soaps, bath salts and bath bombs have quickly become very popular at local pop-ups and farmers markets, and now you can give the gift of local relaxation to someone on your Christmas list this year!
Bonehead Art
Graham artist Katie Cassette makes unique jewelry, decorative home items and paintings, many of which have graced the walls of the Saxapahaw General Store. You can browse her work and contact her through Instagram.
Citrine Dreaam Co
For several years, Emily King was the General Store’s baker in residence. She currently lives in eastern Tennessee with her husband Brack, where she rekindled her love of visual art and design. She makes stickers, t-shirts and home decorations.
Earth & Iron Pottery
Earth and Iron Pottery mugs can be found year-round at the Saxapahaw General Store, but you should check out their Etsy shop to see their full range of wares. Their famous mugs, wine cups, plates, bowls and more are sturdy, beautiful and long-lasting works of art made from clay from the heart of North Carolina.
Milestone Bag Co
Julia Greenwood works with upcycled leather and linen, making one-of-a-kind handmade leather bags and wallets as well as super comfortable linen clothing. The bags come in a range of sizes to fit nearly anything that you’re hauling on a regular basis, and they’re incredibly rugged, durable and beautiful.

Benevolence Farm
Since 2008, Benevolence Farm has been helping women negatively impacted by the criminal justice system, building new lives. From the land and their own labor, Benevolence creates high quality body care products.
Crystal Squirrel
As it gets cooler, you’re going to need some well-made accessories to keep your body warm. Crystal Squirrel, based out of Durham, makes beautifully crafted wool and cashmere gloves, mittens and scarves made from upcycled materials. They not only look great, but they’re sure to be around for many winters to come.

Originally from Washington state, artist Cece Leonard now lives with her husband in Saxapahaw. Funny name, serious flavor. That’s what North Carolina based Cackalacky brings to the table, with hand-crafted sauces, spiced nuts and coffee that’s perfect for holiday gift-giving or for a little something year-round. Scent sets the mood. It makes memories and turns a boring room into a place for living and enjoying life. Papermill Creative’s collection of hand-drawn and watercolor prints, cards and stickers sell quickly whether it’s the General Store or the Holiday Market, and there’s a good reason. No matter where you live in North Carolina, there’s probably a Papermill Creative print to represent your city or town. Show your love for where you live this holiday season!
Roberta Marasca Jewelry
Based out of Hillsborough, Roberta Marasca is a long-time vendor at the Saxapahaw Holiday Market, and one vendor that people come to the Market looking for. She combines beautiful gems with amazingly detailed hand-hammered metal to create unique pieces that just about everyone can enjoy.
Cat Haus Designs

Since the late 90s, Thomas Graham has been a prolific local artist, showing up at many arts and craft shows around the state, where his found tin art, made from upcycled sheet metal, old tobacco cans and spice containers continue to delight folk art fans, and he’s developed a bit of a following.

Gina-Marie of Little Homestead Farm makes a wide range of amazing sustainably produced handmade soaps, lotions and salves, perfect for self-care gifts for moms, dads, and even moms and babies! Made right here in Alamance County.
Bourbon Dogs & Art
Artist Steve Durland and his wife run the Woodland Banner Poetry Walk in Alamance County, and they also make beautiful printed home accessories with a rural flair. Their pillows are a great addition to any home yearning for a country touch, and their all-over-print leggings are functional and comfortable.

Paperhand Puppet Intervention
Paperhand Puppets has entertained and educated audiences all over the state, and is one of the pillars of the creative community in Saxapahaw. Donovan Zimmerman’s artistry extends way beyond just puppets, and you should check out the store below, but also order the Paperhand book here.
