The Haw River Ballroom / Cup 22
A beautiful space set in the former Dye House of Saxapahaw’s Historic Cotton Mill. With three levels, a riverside deck, a concessions bar, and coffee shop, a full-service stage and sound system, gorgeous historic detail, solar and geothermal power.
The Eddy Restaurant & Pub
The atmosphere inside invites everyone in the village to gather and to feel welcome. The pub’s sensibility remembers its working-class heritage while using innovations to protect the ecology of the Haw.
Haw River Farmhouse Ales
Haw River Farmhouse Ales handcrafts traditional ales with a little southern flair, using local ingredients where possible in each of their ever-growing and changing line of unique craft beers.
Left Bank Butchery
Saxapahaw’s world-famous butcher shop. They are committed to whole animal butchery, using the best from local, pastured-raised farms.
Culture mill
A performing arts laboratory that fosters a creative ecosystem, through the cross-pollination of artist residencies, educational outreach and groundbreaking immersive artworks from local, national and international artists.
Paperhand puppet intervention
Since 1998, they have been using cardboard, corn starch, bamboo, your old house paints, and other assorted junk to create giant puppets, masks, shadow plays, and performances for all ages.
Haw River Canoe & Kayak company
Whether you’re an expert or a beginner, Haw River Canoe & Kayak has something for you. Guided tours, lessons and gear…young and old, take a beautiful journey via water down the Haw River.
Saxapahaw museum
Come and visit the Saxapahaw Museum to learn more about the history of the Saxapahaw Cotton Mill and the Jordan family history! The Museum is right “downtown” next to the General Store and the Hawbridge School.
Reverence Farms
Reverence Farm is over 400 acres of sustainable farming and agriculture. They offer self-guided farm tours as well as premium farm fresh beef, pork, lamb, milk and eggs.

Benjamin Vineyards
Benjamin Vineyards is a family owned and operated vineyard located in the Haw River Valley AVA in Piedmont North Carolina. Situated outside the picturesque town of Saxapahaw along the Haw River, the sandy loam soil of our vineyard is ideal for growing Muscadine grapes– including Scuppernong, the nation’s first cultivated wine grape– as well as viniferous French wine grapes and French-American hybrid wine grapes.
Sprout Farm
A women owned and operated educational farm, Sprout Farm offers after-school and summer programs to bring kids and families into a fun, nurturing and educational environment where they can learn about nature, animals and respect for the places in which we live.
Bourbon, dogs & Art
Steven Durland’s studio, where he creates and sells beautiful pieces from the minutiae of the forest. The Woodland Banners Poetry Walk is a stroll through the woods at Frog Pond Farm in Saxapahaw. It features outdoor banner artwork by Steven Durland and poetry by Linda Frye Burnham.
Out of the fire clay studio
Located just outside of Saxapahaw, Ceramic sculptor and Art Educator Cindy Biles creates one-of-a-kind art. We also offer sculpture and hand-building classes to adults, teens, and children.
The Hawbridge School
The Hawbridge School is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in grades 4-12. Located in a restored mill on the banks of the Haw River in Saxapahaw, we’re a leader in the outdoor classroom movement, and our highly qualified, deeply committed faculty includes scientists, mathematicians, a composer, writers, editors, performers, visual artists, graphic designers, and a local radio personality–all of them highly accredited and committed to research-driven education.
Freehand Market
Located between the General Store and Left Bank Butchery, Freehand Market (formerly Otter & Elk) is a modern mercantile that opened in April 2019. Featuring works of art, jewelry and crafts from local artisans. A pop-up style store, keep up with them online for their variable hours.
S.A.F.E. Food pantry
Empowering individuals and strengthening families in Southern Alamance County and beyond by respectfully and compassionately providing food assistance, developing relationships, identifying needs beyond food, and seeking solutions to those needs.
Haw River Mushrooms
They offer mushroom related workshops, and grow lions mane, oyster mushrooms, shiitake, cinnamon caps, and reishi. Laura is a certified mushroom forager for NC, SC, and Georgia. They are also proud suppliers of cultivated and foraged mushrooms to several restaurants in the triangle and triad.
The Fab 4 House
A midcentury, modern homestay, wedding and event center. Turn on the stereo and serve cocktails from the Tiki bar. Entertain guests on the lanai. Have a wedding ceremony under the authentically constructed A-frame gazebo for the memory of a lifetime.
