Keeping Saxapahaw Safe
During this time, we’re doing everything we can to keep our staff and our community safe and healthy. As an essential business, we are working hard to keep our store fully stocked to provide you with fresh, healthy food, whether it’s prepared here or if it’s for meals at home. We’ve vastly expanded our offering of online groceries, and we offer delivery within 7 miles of the store or free in-store pickup. All of our employees are provided with plenty of gloves, sanitizer and face masks to keep them healthy and safe, as well as keeping our community as safe as possible. We offer contactless pickup or delivery for any orders if requested. We’re here for you at this time to serve you however we can.
Food Consciously Selected.
The Saxapahaw General Store as it now exists began in June 2008 when Jeff Barney, butcher, and self-taught chef, and Cameron Ratliff, teacher, and self-taught biscuit maker, worked with former owner and mill town visionary Mac Jordan to begin a new life for the convenience store and gas station that had served the community for several years. They imagined a spot where a village could gather for food, drink, and provisions, run by folks whose varied backgrounds have each taught them they can influence their world by collaborating with their neighbors. They hoped to serve the residents of Saxapahaw with a range of products that could allow everyone to feel welcome.
