The General Store 2021 Rewind: Up, Down, Left, Right and Back Around Again February 2021 It was a pretty gray February, but at least we had superheroes watching over the store. Watermelon radishes are kind of dull on the outside, but when you cut them open– wow! Just like how many of us found a strength and beauty inside of us the last couple of years that may not be evident on the surface. Some February-appropriate art by local artist Rick McConnell brought joy to our own hearts. A slight icing that caused us to open the store late one day was the closest we got to winter weather this year. :( Slower winter hours means plenty of time for the kitchen to experiment with new ideas, like this Korean-inspired burger created by Kevin Coble. And we stayed warm with plenty of dessert… And plenty of breakfasts made with local ingredients, like eggs from Reverence Farms. Happy Valentine’s Day from behind plexiglas and face masks! <3 And there was that time that a documentary crew, working on a profile of local gluten-free bread creators Simple Kneads (that we sell in-store and use in the kitchen) came by to interview Jeff. We did have some sunny days, and after a long winter, sitting out on the patio, soaking up a little bit of sun is such a treat. Next up is March! Click next to hop forward!
