The General Store 2021 Rewind: Up, Down, Left, Right and Back Around Again

2021 was a year. A year full of ups and downs, twists and turns. Just when we thought the pandemic might be over, it reared its head again. We were able to get Saturdays in Saxapahaw back, even if it was just for one weekend. Live music and the Holiday Market returned to the Haw River Ballroom. More babies were born, babies grew into toddlers, people came and went, and life flowed on in Saxapahaw like the meandering Haw that runs just down the hill from us. As we move ahead, let’s take a break, and look back on another great year in Saxapahaw!

January 2021

January came in with a little bit of frost, but we were hopeful for a really good year.

It was great seeing so many new faces out in Saxapahaw.
Oh, and we started a Tik Tok account, which you can find @saxgenstore!
And so much good food, like the lamb shank wrap made with delicious locally raised lamb!
And bacon pimento cheese sliders! Mmmm!
We took the slower part of the year to clean all the things…
Serve up some amazing farm fresh food…
And smile and laugh while doing it! It’s great loving where you live and work.
We’re so lucky to be so close to so many farmers.
