2022 in Review: The Year Full of Big Surprises
2022 was a lot better than previous years, but it was still a time of big changes for a lot, and Saxapahaw was no exception. We saw people come and go, new events at the General Store happening, marriages and todders… and generally, the community felt very close in interesting times. Let’s take a look at this past year!
January
We always start the year out with a Brunch Extravaganza, with New Year’s brunch served every day from the day after Christmas until 2-3 days after New Year’s.
This is a rural community, so it’s not that uncommon to see farm animals at the General Store, and it’s always a treat when Hue and Suzanne from Reverence Farms stop by. You can find Reverence Farms eggs all year round, and much of their locally raised meat ends up in some very very tasty specials.
Winter is good for hearty food, and we’ve got no shortage, with dishes like the bratwurst dinner made with the freshest, most natural, organic and locally grown ingredients that we can find.
January is all about renewal, and so when we got these new scented candles from Reverie & Felicity, they were a perfect addition to our selection of locally made gift items.
And we were able to restock the Saxapahaw script tees, which if you’re from around here, you know what a big deal that is, because we don’t get them often and they sell out quick!
And we also finally got delta 8 THC products, which quickly became best sellers, and we expanded our selection to include delta 8 candies and soda.
It got pretty dang cold at times…
But we still did karaoke!
And we even got some snow!
