A Look Back at the Weird and Wonderful World of the General Store in 2020 October 2020 Imprompteau strumming outside the store is not only for employees, but for everyone. One day in August, local Danny Pesta posted up outside of the store to relax his soul with music and lunch. The kitchen came up with all kinds of savory dinner specials in October, like this stuffed pork chop with a side of sweet mashers and broccoli. And Amber got a new dog! That time that the Android tablet-based store music system wasn’t working, and Kevin just happened to have a record player and a collection of records in his car… Who else had a baby this year? This is Lena, the brand new daughter of Lauren, our bookkeeper! You know it’s October when pumpkins and gourds start decorating everything in the General Store. Combine pumpkins and beer, and you’ve got a recipe for a fun fall, even if there weren’t any Halloween parties or big trick-or-treat events this year. And then there’s the Halloween costumes! Sarah dressed as Robin from Stranger Things, but most people just thought she was a sailor. And when Orin and Kevin went to do a pop-up food event at Barrel Culture in Durham, Kevin wore his finest Halloween hot dog costume. Even without a big Halloween party to go to, you can still go big with your costumes, like Jeff and Cameron did this year, dressed as a swashbuckling pirate and a mistress of the dark arts.
